Updates in Better Hearing for 2021

Hearing health is a bigger issue than many people realize. Among the 65 and older population, it is the third most disabling but treatable condition. (Arthritis and hypertension are the first two.) Two-thirds of people 70 or older have hearing loss, and 3 in 1000 children in the U.S. experience poor hearing in one or both ears.

With so many people affected by hearing loss, how does hearing loss affect these people’s daily lives? Unfortunately, it negatively impacts them. People who experience hearing loss often isolate themselves because they want to avoid the stress of trying to communicate, and social isolation can lead to depression. Also, even mild hearing loss ages the brain by seven years because of the decrease in cognitive function that hearing loss causes.

Even those these facts are concerning, remember that hearing loss is treatable! And as always, Sound Hearing Care stays on the cutting edge of research and technology to provide you the latest treatment options available. We recently held a webinar explaining what is available to you to treat hearing loss and to improve cognitive function. If you missed it, you can watch the recording below.
