WIDEX MOMENT™ Upgrades Provide a More Personal Hearing Experience
Last month, we talked about the Widex Magnify app. This month, we want to cover upgrades for WIDEX MOMENT™ hearing aids.
Android Streaming
With the Widex MOMENT App, version 1.4, Widex MOMENT hearing aids now support Google’s Android Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA) standard, allowing Widex MOMENT hearing aids to function like traditional Bluetooth headsets and earbuds.
To enjoy ASHA compatibility, a patient’s Android smartphone must be running Android 11 or later and Bluetooth 5.0. Among current Widex MOMENT hearing aids branded ‘Ready for Direct Android Streaming’ are the BTE 13 D, RIC 312 D, and mRIC R D.
Among popular Android smartphones supporting ASHA streaming are:
Google Pixel 5, 4a, 4 , 4 XL, 3, 3 XL, 3a, and 3a XL
Samsung Galaxy S21, S20, S10e, and S10
OnePlus 8 Pro, 8, 7T, and 7 Pro.
My Sound
The most exciting change to WIDEX MOMENT™ is its new My Sound feature. My Sound uses artificial intelligence to understand the wearer’s needs. For example, if you trying to hear a conversation at dinner in a crowded restaurant, you can use the Moment app to select “Dining” as your activity and “Concentration” as your intent.
Based on worldwide user information stored on the cloud, My Sound will make two recommendations about the perfect setting for this situation. You can try both and decide which works the best.
So far, WIDEX MOMENT™ users have reported this feature to be very simple and intuitive to use in the MOMENT app. If you have the app, try it for yourself and let us know what you think!
My Guide
My Guide is another new feature available in the app, and its purpose is to help hearing aid users quickly and easily adapt to their new aids… or to learn about features they haven’t tapped yet.
My Guide has four sections:
Videos
Troubleshooting

Visit My Guide to learn more about your hearing aids so that you can maximize your listening experience.
App Updates on Apple Watch
Apple Watch users can enjoy these additional updates to their Apple Watch version of the MOMENT app:
Accessing the app directly from the watch face
Using the digital crown (dial on the side) to control volume
Muting directly from the start screen
Accessing all listening programs, including saved personalized ones, easily
Accessing and controlling Widex TV Play
Widex TV Play
Speaking of Widex TV Play, this feature allows users to stream TV sound directly into WIDEX MOMENT™ hearing aids. It is very easy to set up. To use it, you need to place the Widex TV Play device on a display or behind the TV. It has a discreet triangle design, and it contains two antennas placed at different angles. It will stream the sound to your hearing aids, and you can move around the room without interrupting the signal. The MOMENT app will allow you to adjust the TV volume and hearing aids separately so that you can find the right balance between the TV sound and other sounds (such as conversations) in the room.
